There is a rare substyle of Luba sculptures known as Shankadi. Sculptures of this type are made in Luba-land in the area of Lake Kisale. The style is characterized by flat facial features and extremely geometric body form. Hair is represented by knobs and resembles coiffures on Mambila figures. It is believed that this sculptural style might have been inspired by just one artist.
This sculpture has some signs of wear and tear.
