Ntomba is a very small tribe numbering 5000 who live on the banks of the Lualaba River . Thus their artifacts are difficult to come by. Present figure vessel is a rare carving - notice the careful attention the artist paid to carve the eyes, hair, and teeth.

The cavity in the back is lined with metal. The figure is attached to a wooden pedestal.
