This fon mask from Cameroon has been in Yuri Raskin's collecttion and Zyama.com museum for 30 years.
According to tradition, some of these masks, have been created and consecrated by the ancestors themselves. They are usually worn during state ceremonies or during annual festivities.The lead dancer wears a mask which bears a false beard. The n’kang mask is followed by other masks representing a woman, a man or an animal.
