Grebo "Seer" Mask of Four Eyes

"Grebo" means "leaping monkey people," a reference to their flight from a former homeland near the Sahara. The ruler known as bodio lives in near total isolation and functions as grand priest. The Grebo sculpt several types of masks which incarnate the spirits of the invisible world who live in the forest.

Masks similar to this one may be related to the war masks, their features seem to be abstract, they can have several pairs of tubular eyes set in vertical rows along an elongated nose.

This "Seer" seems to be also speaking of what it sees. Its mouth is open. What is it saying?
