Many ethnic groups living in West-African countries produce different bronze objects. These items have been used in different ceremonies: to communicate with unseen forces, in ceremonies marking succession of power, in hunters rituals, for protective purposes.  Present figurine came from Burkina Faso, apparently from the Mossi people; it has been produced for one of ceremonies, but its specific function is not known.
