Grassland, Cameroon

Longstanding traditions of royal gift-giving and conquest also led to striking stylistic fluidity that characterizes this region’s arts. This art tends towards dramatization, power and sumptuous luxury. The fon and his court is a focal point, it exerts powerful influence upon the development of the plastic art.
